Surrounded by centuries-old chestnut trees , the Châtaigneraie is a place where heritage, nature and contemporary creation meet.

Rebuilt between 1830 and 1840 , this remarkable building is now protected by the Walloon Region .

Owned by the municipality of Flémalle , the Châtaigneraie houses the Walloon Centre for Contemporary Art (CWAC) , which helps to discover and promote regional artistic movements .

Throughout the year, the center offers exhibitions , hosts retrospectives , and also highlightsyoung artists and emerging talents.
